The University seeks to appoint a clinical research associate professor (Fixed-term, 5 years) within one of the following specialties to the Department of Clinical Medicine to commence from as soon as possible:
• Internal Medicine: Cardiology
• Internal Medicine: Endocrinology
• Internal Medicine: Gastroenterology and Hepatology
• Internal Medicine: Geriatrics
• Internal Medicine: Haematology
• Internal Medicine: Infectious Diseases
• Internal Medicine: Nephrology
• Internal Medicine: Respiratory Medicine
• Internal Medicine: Rheumatology
• Orthopaedic Surgery
• Thoracic Surgery
• Vascular Surgery
The clinical research associate professorship is combined with a clinical position at Zealand University Hospital, Emergency Department.
It is a requirement for appointment that the applicant is accepted for both the clinical research associate professorship and the clinical position. The clinical research associate professors’ duties will primarily consist of:
• Research, including publication/academic dissemination
• Research-based teaching, including associated examination
• Research leadership, including guidance and supervision of researchers
• Obligation to share knowledge with the rest of society, including participation in public debate
• Academic assessments
The division between the different tasks may vary over the 5-year period of employment. Teaching obligations are equivalent to a previous external clinical associate professorship rate B.
Any current employment as clinical associate professor (rate A, B or rate C) will expire if the applicant is employed as a clinical research associate professor.
The qualification requirement for the clinical research associate professor is a master’s degree in medicine, specialist status as well as further teaching and research qualifications, for example PhD or doctorate and subsequently documented scientific production on an international level. In addition, there will be an emphasis on experience with scientific guidance, research administration and international research collaboration. The clinical research associate professors are also required to possess good interpersonal and communicative skills.

For the clinical research associate professorship the appointee will receive a pensionable annual salary of DKK 48.220,70 (1 Apr. 2012 level).

After the expiry of the deadline for applications, the authorized recruitment manager selects applicants for assessment on the advice of the Appointments Committee. The Dean then appoints an expert assessment committee in order to make an assessment of the selected applicants for the specific post.
