PhD studentship in Physical Chemistry/Electrocatalysis, Department of Chemistry, University of Copenhagen
One PhD position is available at the Nano Chemistry section at the Department of Chemistry, Faculty of Science at University of Copenhagen, to work on the experimental development and characterisation of new catalysts for the oxygen electroreduction in fuel cells, commencing on 1 May 2017 or as soon as possible thereafter.
Project description and scientific environment
The work will be focus on the synthesis, testing and characterisation of the catalysts. The employment is in the Nano Electrocatalysis group of Assistant Professor Maria Escudero-Escribano. It relies heavily on a close collaboration between theory and experiment. It will be in collaboration with other partners of the Villum Center for the Science of Sustainable Fuels and Chemicals (V-SUSTAIN), in particular the Technical University of Denmark and Stanford University.
Candidates for the PhD positions should have a Masters’ degree in Chemistry, Physics, Chemical Engineering or Materials Science.
The successful candidates should be well-motivated, willing and able to work as part of a team and have good English skills. Relevant work experience in electrocatalysis, in particular fuel-cell reactions, and previous publications are welcomed.
Salary and appointment terms
The salary and appointment terms of the PhD position are consistent with the current rules for PhD degree students. The period of employment is 3 years.
