We are seeking an all-round administrative, scientific secretary and
project manager for the Section for Computational and RNA Biology, Department
of Biology at Faculty of SCIENCE, University of Copenhagen (UCPH). The position
is open from 1 April 2019.
The section is a dynamic and high-profile research environment offering a
broad interaction interface within the department and across UCPH as well as
other national and international research institutions, companies and networks.
Currently, the section consists of 12 international research groups, in total
around 65 employees. We maintain an informal working environment with a large
fraction of young researchers. The funding for the section is primarily derived
from external sources.
Your main focus will be support of the Head of Section as well as providing
administrative support for the MSc programme in Bioinformatics and ongoing
research projects, thereby helping the scientists to maximize time spent on
research. You will work together with the administration at the department and
be affiliated with colleagues in networks at both departmental and faculty
- Assisting the Head of Section with activities in
research, teaching and outreach
- Assisting scientists with project coordination
- Arrangements for meetings,
visitors, travel etc.
- Responsible for section web-site and social media
- Academic degree (a relevant MSc or PhD science
degree is an advantage, but not a requirement)
- Mature, responsible, independent and service- as
well as collaboration-minded
- Systematic and focused
- Spoken and written English at a high level
Terms of employment
Employment will either be as an academic employee or senior consultant
according to the qualifications and experience of the candidate of choice. The
terms of conditions and payment are set in accordance with the collective
agreement between the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations and the
Danish Ministry of Finance. The salary for a fulltime academic employee is
currently between DKK 359,058 and DKK 437,520 (including pension) and for a
fulltime senior consultant between DKK 567,601 and DKK 594,692 (including
pension). Negotiation for salary supplement is possible.
The position is fulltime (37 hours a week), though employment for 30-37
hours a week can be negotiated.
