Description of the scientific environment
The PhD candidate(s) will join the research group of Jes Jørgensen at Centre for Star and Planet Formation and the Niels Bohr Institute. The group focuses on understanding the physics and chemistry of the earliest stages of star and planet formation with particular emphasis on observations of such systems using the Atacama Large Millimeter/submillimeter Array (ALMA) and other telescopes operating at infrared and (sub)millimeter wavelengths as well as link to theory through detailed dust and line radiative transfer modelling.
Project description
The successful candidate(s) will be work on data from large ALMA programs focusing on the structure of embedded protostars as well as simulations of their physical and chemical evolution. The work will be carried out in collaboration with other members of the group and international partners. Previous experience in long wavelength observations and/or radiative transfer modelling will be seen as a plus for the application.
