211-0570 Associate Professor of Ball Games

A position for research and teaching in ball games is open at the Department of Nutrition, Exercise and Sports (NEXS).
The applicant is required to possess a PhD degree (or equivalent academic degree) of relevance for exercise and sport sciences and with documented research in ball games (peer-review publications and attraction of funding) and academic/professional practical teaching experience within one or several ball games.
This implies that applicants are required to have university level teaching experience, documented teaching competencies and must be able to explain and reflect upon own teaching practice and portfolio. Formal pedagogical training or supervision equivalent to the University of Copenhagen teacher-training program for assistant professors is required.
Duties include the applicant’s own research, development of research in the practical/theoretical research field in ball games, assessment tasks, grant applications, and research management such as supervision and training of research fellows and other staff. The successful applicant must also teach, supervise, prepare and participate in examinations, and fulfill other tasks requested by the Department. The teaching tasks are expected to include course responsibility for two BA courses in ball games and ability to cover additional practical-theoretical courses or teaching in exercise and sports sciences at bachelor or master level in relevant educations at the department.
Assessment of applicants will primarily consider their level of documented, original scientific production at an international level, including contributions to developments in their field, as well as their documented teaching qualifications. Managerial and out-reach qualifications of applicants including ability to attract external funding will also be considered.
The successful applicant will be associated with one of the research groups/sections focused on physical activity and sport sciences (within human physiology or humanistic and social sciences – depending on the applicant scientific approach to research in ball games). Terms of employment 
The position is covered by the Memorandum on Job Structure for Academic Staff.
Terms of appointment and payment accord to the agreement between the Ministry of Finance and The Danish Confederation of Professional Associations on Academics in the State.
Commencing salary is currently up to DKK 461.868 including annual supplement (+ pension up to DKK 78.979).
Negotiation for salary supplement is possible.
