The applicant is required to possess a PhD degree (or equivalent academic degree) of relevance for exercise and sport sciences and with documented research in ball games (peer-review publications and attraction of funding) and academic/professional practical teaching experience within one or several ball games.

This implies that applicants are required to have university level teaching experience, documented teaching competencies and must be able to explain and reflect upon own teaching practice and portfolio. The successful applicant must also teach, supervise, prepare and participate in examinations, and fulfill other tasks requested by the Department. The teaching tasks are expected to include course responsibility for two BA courses in ball games and ability to cover additional practical-theoretical courses or teaching in exercise and sports sciences at bachelor or master level in relevant educations at the department.

Assessment of applicants will primarily consider their level of documented, original scientific production at an international level, including contributions to developments in their field, as well as their documented teaching qualifications. Managerial and out-reach qualifications of applicants including ability to attract external funding will also be considered.

The successful applicant will be associated with one of the research groups/sections focused on physical activity and sport sciences (within human physiology or humanistic and social sciences – depending on the applicant scientific approach to research in ball games). The department has a strong tradition in both cross-disciplinary research and basic science. See specific examples via the link below.
