Postdoc of Palaeoproteomics

A 3-year position as Postdoc of Palaeoproteomics is available at the EvoGenomics section, the Natural History Museum of Denmark, University of Copenhagen, starting on August 1st 2018 or as soon as possible hereafter.  
The Palaeoproteomics lab is recruiting a motivated and talented early-stage postdoctoral scientist with a research background in molecular biology. The position is part of PROTEIOS (Niels Bohr Chair in Palaeoproteomics) the goal of which is to establish and develop an interdisciplinary team to advance the field of Palaeproteomics using a high-risk / high-reward strategy. The successful candidate will work to establish novel methodology in several areas; collagen depletion (to aid detection of low-abundance proteins), estimating age at death, ancient disease biomarker discovery, immunoassay development and further development of ZooMS. Additional responsibilities include; day to day running of the laboratory and supervision/training of PhD students.  
Essential experience:  
● At least 12 months in the field of palaeoproteomics.  
● A proven track record of method establishment/development of molecular biology techniques.  
● 5 years of laboratory experience.  
● Comprehensive experience of immunoassays including ‘homebrew’.  
Desired experience:  
● Experience of assay development in an industrial setting.  
● Commercialisation process including patent writing.

Terms of employment  
The position is covered by the Memorandum on Job Structure for Academic Staff.  
Terms of appointment and payment accord to the agreement between the Ministry of Finance and The Danish Confederation of Professional Associations on Academics in the State.  
The starting salary is currently up to DKK 419.772 including annual supplement (+ pension up to DKK 71.781). Negotiation for salary supplement is possible.
