Postdoc in cancer cell heterogeneity drug response testing in the Wennerberg Group at BRIC, University of Copenhagen

We are seeking a motivated postdoc to explore physiological growth conditions and microenvironment and how that affects heterogeneity and drug responses in ex vivo cancer cell cultures with the aim of discovering novel precision medicine therapies.
Our research/The group
The Wennerberg group at BRIC focuses on identifying new effective precision cancer therapies. This is done with a systems-driven approach where functional testing of cancer cells is in the center. Chemical biology, phenotypic profiling, molecular profiling and informatics are used together to gain understanding of individual cancers, their drug resistance mechanisms and how to harness their interactions with the immune system and microenvironment. Our ultimate goal is that the continued efforts of the research group and their collaborators will lead to cures of individual and subsequently larger groups of cancer patients.
Project/The research project(s)
We are seeking a postdoc for the Wennerberg group to study the establishment of physiologically relevant cell culture methods of primary cancer cells for high throughput screening and how the culturing methods affects cancer cell heterogeneity and drug responses with the goal of discovering novel personalized cancer treatments. The impact on cell states and heterogeneity from culturing methods and drug treatments will be studied with high content imaging and (single cell) molecular profiling methods. The postdoc will be working in multidisciplinary research teams, including other research groups and clinicians.
