Assistant Professorship at the Center for Chromosome Stability, ICMM

An Assistant Professorship will be available for one year with the possibility for one year extension from May 1st, 2018 in the Center for Chromosome Stability (CCS; at the Department of Cellular and Molecular Medicine (, University of Copenhagen directed by Prof I. D. Hickson. The CCS has received long term funding from the Danish National Research Foundation. The mission of the CCS is to better understand the molecular mechanisms by which chromosomal instability impacts on age-related pathologies in humans. The post-holder must have extensive experience of advanced imaging on living human cells in mitosis. A background in DNA damage and repair would be a strong advantage too. 
Motivated candidates with a strong academic and publication track record are encouraged to apply. As the members and collaborators of the Center are international, the working language is English. Thus, excellent English speaking, reading and writing skills are required. 
The Department 
The Department of Cellular and Molecular Medicine focuses on basic cellular and molecular biological processes, their regulation and their significance for cell function, interaction and organisation in tissues. The Department offers comprehensive undergraduate and graduate teaching programs spanning cell biology, genetics and basic human biology, including chemistry, biochemistry, physiology, as well as anatomy. Salary and employment terms 
Salary and employment terms are subject to the collective agreement made between the Danish Ministry of Finance and the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations on the employment of academics in state service.
