Two-Year Post Doc Position in Anxiety, Sexuality, and Relationship Research

A two-year post doc position at the Department of Public Health, Section of Environmental Health, University of Copenhagen is available from 1 September 2017 or afterwards.

The Position
The newly founded research group ’SIR’ is currently looking for an ambitious post doc to become part of an innovative team to conduct cutting edge research and transform this research into manifest interventions and products. Currently, the group’s senior staff comprise one professor (medical doctor) and two associate professors (psychologist and biostatistician) in addition to junior staff. The group has a large number of national and international collaborators and works on a number of projects related to sexuality, relationships, and reproductive health. 
The post doc will predominately work on the following two research projects:

1) 'When Marriage Fails'. 'When Marriage Fails' is a unique longitudinal study combining questionnaire and Danish register research  with the overall aim of investigating well-known adverse psychological, physiological and economic effects of divorce among a large cohort (approximately 2600) of newly divorced Danes. Currently, approximately 2000 Danes are enrolled in the fully funded study.

2) ‘Anxiety & Sexuality’. Through a systematic combined longitudinal multicenter- and questionnaire study involving national anxiety clinics and a large cohort of the general population of Denmark the study seeks to investigate interconnections between sexual-/relationship problems and health, quality of life, and illness treatment and recovery. The study is fully funded.

In terms of daily work, the successful applicant will be required to work on production of own international publications, grant proposals, and assisting senior staff. If possible, some supervision and teaching will be possible. 

The ideal candidate will have:
- PHD or equivalent
- Strong publication record
- A background in medicine, psychology or public health
- Interest in or knowledge of sexuality, relationship and/or anxiety research
- Strong statistical abilities and knowledge of quantitative methodology
- Ability to work independently
- High productivity

Employment conditions
Salary and other terms and conditions of appointment are set in accordance with the Agreement between the Ministry of Finance and AC (Danish Confederation of Professional Associations) or other relevant professional organizations. In addition to the seniority-based salary, the appointee will receive an annual supplement of currently DKK 50,773.20 and additional bonuses may be negotiated on an individual basis.
