The Niels Bohr Institute (NBI) announces the opening of the position Section secretary at the Section of Condensed Matter Physics. We are looking for a highly motivated individual to take over the position.
The Section of Condensed Matter Physics is one of 11 sections at the Niels Bohr Institute. The section houses two large research centers: Center for Quantum Devices (qdev.dk) and Microsoft Quantum Copenhagen (microsoft.com/en-us/quantum/). The research comprises materials research, experimental physics, nanoelectronics and condensed matter theory. The Section consists of 120+ employees and students representing 30 different nationalities.
Our skilled section secretary got a new job and we wish to fill the position. The position consists of 80% work related to the section and 20% study administration for NBI. The section work consists of assisting the scientific staff in general and the Section Manager in particular in the section's tasks, which include everything from meeting planning, support for section budget management, planning and support for Bachelors, Masters and PhD defenses, visitors seminars, and many other tasks.
As well as working closely with the Section leader, you will be part of a local administrative team of 7 staff plus 4 student helpers managed by a team leader. In addition, you will be a part of the administration at NBI with colleagues in similar positions.
To ensure full coverage during the workday your work hours are 9.00 -16.30 on Mondays – Thursdays, and 9.00-16.00 on Fridays.
We expect that you have administrative experience at a Danish university and preferably know systems like RejsUd and Indfak. Having experience with study administration is a plus but not expected.
You should thrive in a dynamic international environment and adapt well to a fast pace and to ever-changing conditions. It is important that you are a team player and have a positive approach to your tasks. You speak and write both English and Danish fluently.

Terms of employment
The position is permanent and available from 1 April 2019, or upon agreement. The employment is made in accordance with the Collective Agreement between the Danish Ministry of Finance and the Organisations of Public Employees – governmental institutions (the OAO-S collective agreement) and the Professional Agreement for clerical employees, laboratory technicians and it officers in the state.
