PhD-position in understanding the interplay between hypoxia and DNA metabolism

A position as a PhD student is available in the Scheibye-Knudsen laboratory at the Center for Healthy Aging, University of Copenhagen. 
The appointment is a 3 years full time position, starting February 1st 2019 
Job Description 
The PhD student will utilize molecular cell biological approaches to investigate how hypoxia and the DNA damage response change with aging. The project occurs in collaboration with Mekelle University, Ethiopia.  
The candidate should have skills in molecular cell biology and a good understanding of cellular signaling and the hypoxia response. Knowledge of, and interest in, cellular and organismal aging is necessary. Furthermore, due to the collaboration with Mekelle University, Ethiopia, the candidate is required to be fluent in Amharic. Most importantly, the candidate should show outstanding motivation, a passion for science and a wish to become a leader in the field. In all cases, the ability to perform the job will be the primary consideration, and thus we encourage everyone interested in this post to apply, regardless of personal background.  
Terms of salary and employment: 
The terms of employment are set according to the Agreement between the Ministry of Finance and The Danish Confederation of Professional Associations or other relevant professional organization. Successful applicants will receive a generous salary as well as a monthly contribution of 17.1% of the salary paid into a pension fund.
