The University seeks to appoint a clinical research associate professor (research) of Pathology to the Department of Clinical Medicine to commence as soon as possible. The clinical research associate professorship is combined with a clinical position at Zealand University Hospital, Department of Pathology.
It is a requirement for appointment that the applicant is accepted for both the clinical research associate professorship and the clinical position. In order to be considered the applicant must send an application to both the Faculty (the clinical associate professorship) and to the hospital (the clinical position) cf. the simultaneously advertised clinical position. Job description
The clinical research associate professors’ duties will primarily consist of:
- Research, including publication/academic dissemination. The applicant must perform research concerning diagnostics of gastrointestinal diseases with a focus towards use of AI and on optimization of diagnostic procedures.
- Research-based teaching, including associated examination. Dissemination of results are expected by presentation at the department, at national and international conferences and publication of peer-reviewed papers.
- Research leadership – The applicant should aim at being the main supervisor for younger researchers, including trainees at the department and PhD-students Obligation to share knowledge with the rest of society, including participation in public debate
- Academic assessments
The division between the different tasks may vary over the 5-year period of employment. Teaching obligations are equivalent to a previous external clinical associate professorship rate B.
Any current employment as clinical associate professor (rate A, B or rate C) will expire if the applicant is employed as a clinical research associate professor.
Required qualifications
The qualification requirement for the clinical associate professor (research) is a master’s degree in medicine, specialist status as well as further teaching and research qualifications, for example PhD or doctorate and subsequently documented scientific production on an international level. In addition, there will be an emphasis on experience with scientific guidance, research administration and international research collaboration.
The clinical associate professors (research) are also required to possess good interpersonal and communicative skills.
Terms of employment

Salary and other terms and conditions of appointment of an associate professor are set in accordance with the Agreement between the Ministry of Finance and AC (Danish Confederation of Professional Associations) or other relevant professional organisations. The position is covered by the Job Structure for Academic Staff at Universities 2025.

The Dean then appoints an expert assessment committee in order to make an assessment of the selected applicants for the specific post.
