We are looking for a lab manager to join the Laboratory for Integrative Biomedicine.
Our research
Our research focus on metagenomics and its application in different areas such as obesity and diabetes, animal health, and soil microorganisms and plant growth. Many of our projects aim to elucidate the interplay of naturally occurring microorganisms and their hosts. As a part of this, we are involved in animal and human intervention studies investigating the connection between health status and the metagenome.
The position
We are looking for a quality minded lab manager with knowledge to manage sequencing projects from end-to-end including initial planning, execution and reporting of results.
In addition to practical lab work you will be responsible of managing the overall structure of documents and helping out with other practical tasks.
You will be instrumental in coordinating the research tasks of the unit and you will be responsible for the day-to-day coordination of the tasks of the TAP’s and student assistants in the unit. You will also be involved in the strategic long-term planning together with the senior scientists and will be responsible for developing our sequencing platform including the introduction of new methods.
Your Profile
You are highly engaged and quality-minded and have a basic molecular knowledge of relevant techniques You have extensive experience in setup, optimization and troubleshooting of sequencing projects. You have well-developed collaborative skills and ready to take responsibility of given tasks and is capable of managing projects by yourself and perform long-term plan of the lab activities.
You also have:
- A relevant master’s degree e.g. within Biology, Microbio., Biotech., Biochem. or Mol. Biomed.
- Active interest in sequencing technology
- Good English language skills, written and spoken
- Well-developed collaborative skills and structured mind.

Terms of salary and employment
The employment is a full-time position as a specialist consultant for 3 years with the possibility of extension. Expected starting date is 1st of January 2025. Salary is decided based on qualifications and according the university’s regulations.
