We are seeking a highly motivated and independent staff scientist to support our efforts in phage research targeting Salmonella Dublin from 15 July 2025 until 31 December 2026.
Your job
You will contribute to a research project on phages for combatting Salmonella Dublin and support the ongoing research projects in the group on an ad hoc basis when needed. You will also disseminate your expertise in bioinformatics to new lab members. This includes assisting master's and bachelor's students in the lab and supervising the use of bioinformatics tools.
Profile
We are looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic staff scientist with the following competencies and experience:
Essential experience and skills
- You have a PhD in Life sciences or related
- You have documented experience in phage research
- You have an active interest and knowledge of bioinformatics
- You have proven an ability to envision, plan, and execute a research project
- Good English skills, written and spoken
Desirable experience and skills
- E.g. Technology-driven
- E.g. Service-minded
Place of employment
The place of employment is at Department of Veterinary and Animal Sciences University of Copenhagen. We offer creative and stimulating working conditions in a dynamic and international research environment. Our research facilities include modern laboratories.
Terms of employment
The average weekly working hours are 37 hours per week.
The position is a fixed-term position limited to a period of 1 year and 5,5 months. The starting date is 15 July 2025.
Employment will be as academic employee in accordance with the provisions of the collective agreement between the Danish Ministry of Taxation and AC (the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations). The monthly salary will be based on the number of years of work experience (seniority) with the possibility to negotiate a salary supplement based on prior experiences and qualifications. The employer will pay an additional 17.1 % to your pension fund.
