Senior Innovation Consultant

Join KU Lighthouse as Senior Innovation Consultant to advance innovation teaching practices across the university

At KU Lighthouse, we contribute to University of Copenhagen’s ambition to support innovative teaching initiatives and practice that encourage solution-oriented thinking among our graduates. We believe that innovation didactics has the potential to enrich learning across all academic disciplines - from the humanities to the sciences – and will allow students to unfold their innovation capacity. Our mission is not to turn every course into startup training, but to support educators wanting to embed real-world problem-solving, creativity, and entrepreneurial agency into their teaching in ways that are meaningful within their academic contexts.

To help us advance this, we are looking for an experienced colleague to play a key role in strengthening how innovation teaching is supported and embedded at UCPH. This means designing and shaping the frameworks, peer networks, and support structures that make it easier - and more motivating - for educators to engage with innovation didactics as a natural and valued part of their teaching.

About the position

You will work in close collaboration with educators and units such as pedagogical centres and study administration, where your job is to apply a systems-thinking approach to understand and address the institutional, cultural, and administrative conditions that shape educators’ ability - and motivation - to engage with innovation didactics.

A central task will be to relaunch and grow the UCPH Educators' Network for Innovation & Entrepreneurship (I&E) - creating a strong peer-learning space that inspires, motivates, and connects educators who work with or are curious about innovation teaching practices.

You will also lead the development of support services, frameworks, processes, and partnerships that enable educators to more easily integrate innovation into their teaching.

Key responsibilities

  • Support educators across faculties - in close collaboration with the university’s pedagogical centres – in their activities to embed I&E learning goals, real-world cases, and innovation didactics into new or existing courses in ways that are meaningful within the context of their academic disciplines.
  • Coordinate and lead the relaunch of the UCPH Educators' Network for Innovation & Entrepreneurship.
  • Collaborate closely with pedagogical centres, who hold the mandate for pedagogical and didactical upskilling, to co-develop and deliver professional development offers where relevant in the context of I&E. (e.g. workshops, 1:1 sparring, toolkits).
  • Serve as a bridge between educators and relevant university administrative stakeholders (study boards, career guidance, pedagogical units, education strategies, etc.).
  • Standardise and enhance Lighthouse educator support services, including services around the integration of external cases and partnerships in courses.

About you

We imagine you are someone who:

  • Brings insight into how teaching and learning happen in a university context - whether through hands-on teaching experience, supporting educators, working with educational strategy, or research into higher education. You are not expected to deliver pedagogical upskilling (that remains the role of the pedagogical centres), but to work alongside them to develop the systems, structures, and motivation that enable innovation in teaching to thrive.
  • Understands innovation and entrepreneurship as broad educational competences, not only as startup training, but as capabilities that enhance learning, societal relevance, and students’ agency.
  • Can engage meaningfully with educators from different faculties and understands the barriers they might face in engaging with I&E.
  • Has experience with or a strong interest in innovation pedagogy, and how this can enhance subject learning.
  • Thinks in systems - able to navigate and influence the structures, cultures, and processes that shape educational practices at a large research-intensive university.
  • Enjoys building peer networks, communities of practice, and collaborating across domains.
  • Thrives in an environment that is under development, and can balance short-term delivery with long-term strategic development.

We offer

  • A strategic role with the opportunity to impact how innovation becomes an integrated part of education at UCPH
  • A development-oriented, collaborative workplace where your ideas and initiatives are valued
  • Access to a strong network of researchers, pedagogical experts, and innovation environments
  • A flexible work environment with focus on collaboration, responsibility, and work-life balance
  • A workplace where we believe in creating results together, encourage new ideas, and have fun while doing it

About the Department of Innovation and Business Collaboration (KU-INNO)

KU-INNO is the University of Copenhagen’s central innovation department, comprising three sections: KU Lighthouse, IP & Research Law, and External Partnerships. We work to ensure that the university’s knowledge is brought into play for the benefit of society—across faculties, disciplines, and in collaboration with internal and external partners.

We support students in developing agency and ideas, assist educators in creating innovation-focused learning formats, and help researchers translate their knowledge into impact — including through commercialization and sustainable spinouts based on solid research. We connect external partners with university expertise, advise on IP and rights, and build the relationships that make it easier to generate societal impact from university knowledge.
