Postdoc within Screening of De Novo Designed Proteins

We are seeking a postdoctoral researcher to develop screening tools for identification of high-affinity protein binders. The candidate will participate in a larger, cross-disciplinary project aiming to design screening pipelines for identifying binders for proteins involved in cell wall synthesis in gram-positive bacteria, with the aim of combatting antimicrobial resistance. The position is part of a project group of four postdocs, all working with different aspects of the project. The position is for 18 months.

This specific project aims to establish an E. coli-based display system optimized to screen AI-designed proteins for interactions with various targets. The candidate will mainly be lab-based, as one of the other postdocs is purely computational and will supply sets of designed proteins for wet-lab screening.

The ideal candidate has a background in protein chemistry, biophysics, or a related field, and has experience with one or more of the following:

  • Surface display systems, flow cytometry, FACS, or other cell sorting methods
  • Molecular cloning, high-throughput work, E. coli transformation
  • E. coli and yeast-based protein production and purification
  • Protein-protein interactions using BLI, ITC, SPR, or similar techniques

The postdoc’s duties will include research within protein chemistry as well as teaching.
