Student Assistant (IT Officer) at Novo Nordisk Foundation Quantum Computing Programme

The newly established Novo Nordisk Foundation Quantum Computing Programme (NQCP) is building a talented and diverse international team to create a cutting-edge program in the heart of Copenhagen at the Niels Bohr Institute, University of Copenhagen, where the formulation of quantum mechanics was born 100 years ago. The ambition is to build a mission-driven, full-stack approach which will involve exciting innovations at every level, from the quantum processor to the quantum-classical interface all the way to quantum algorithms and applications. The vision of the programme is to enable the development of fault-tolerant quantum computing hardware and quantum algorithms that solve important problems in the life-sciences.

NQCP is looking for a Student Assistant (IT Officer) with effect from 1st of February or as soon as possible thereafter.

Tasks

You will help with the coding implementation of our Algorithms website, working together with other team members to increase functionality and access to the applications database content. This can be anything from code to automate data collection for our applications map, to scientific research questions in resource estimation or quantum algorithms for chemistry and life science.

Terms of salary and employment

The employment is made in accordance with the Collective Agreement between the Danish Ministry of Taxation, The Confederation of Teachers Unions and CO10 – The Danish confederation of public employees of 2010 (LC/CO10 Collective Agreement) and by the Professional Agreement for IT Staff (PROSA) in government service.

You will be employed as a IT Officer. Negotiation for salary supplement is possible.  The working time is 12 hours per week on average.

The position is limited to a period of 6 months with the possibility of extension.
