Postdoc of children’s nutrition, growth, and physical and mental health Department of Nutrition, Exercise and Sports Faculty of Science University of Copenhagen

The research group Lifecourse Nutrition and Health at Department of Nutrition, Exercise and Sports will be hiring a postdoc within the area of children’s nutrition, growth, and physical and mental health. The position will include 9 months of research within the Section of Epidemiology, Department of Public Health at the Faculty of Health Sciences.

About the position

The position is running for 3 years from 1st of August 2025 (or as soon as possible thereafter). The postdoc’s duties will include research within the field of nutrition and pre-pregnancy weight loss in relation to infant and child growth, body composition and health as well as within growth and disordered eating behaviour among children and adolescents. The research tasks include examination visits and coordination of a randomized controlled trial as well as data processing, statistical analysis and publication of trial and cohort data. The post also includes teaching and may include performance of other duties.

Who are we looking for?

We are looking for a strong candidate with a PhD in nutrition, public health or comparable who possess the following qualifications:

  • Scientific qualifications within children’s nutrition and health.
  • Profound training and experience with statistical analysis of large cohort and registry datasets  
  • Excellent English skills (speaking and writing).
  • Excellent Danish speaking and writing skills is a requirement, in order to communicate with study families, work with Danish questionnaires etc.
  • Experience with data collection and coordination of randomized trials will be an advantage.

Relevant scientific publications will also be taken into consideration.

The position is covered by the Memorandum on Job Structure for Academic Staff.

Terms of appointment and payment accord to the agreement between the Ministry of Finance and The Danish Confederation of Professional Associations on Academics in the State.

Negotiation for salary supplement is possible.
