The University seeks to appoint an associate professor of regulatory science to the Department of Pharmacy to commence as soon as possible.

Job description 
The Associate Professor will be a part of the Copenhagen Centre for Regulatory Science (CORS), and must be capable of, and interested in conducting and developing methodological and applied inter-disciplinary research of high international standard in the field of regulatory science.  
Regulatory science will be defined as the science that informs, facilitates and/or evaluates regulatory decision making. At the Copenhagen Centre for Regulatory Science, the focus is on drug regulatory science, where regulatory science is applied to medicinal products and concerns: Evaluating the performance of drug regulations and regulatory instruments; Developing tools and methods to support regulatory decision-making; and producing evidence informing regulatory decision-making.  
The associate professor is expected to contribute actively to the expansion and growth of the Copenhagen Centre for Regulatory Science and will play a leading role in developing the scientific objectives and strategy of the Centre. The position will involve extensive interdisciplinary collaborations within the university and with (inter)national academic groups, as well as other public and private partners.  
The candidate will also be a key participant in the development of the department’s teaching program at graduate and postgraduate levels, with a focus on drug regulatory related topics in the pharmaceutical educational programs. 
The associate professor’s responsibilities will primarily consist of: 
  • Research, including publication/academic dissemination 
  • Research-based teaching, including associated examinations 
  • Research leadership, including guidance and supervision of junior researchers 
  • Obligation to share knowledge with the rest of society, including participation in public debate 
  • Academic assessments 
The position also includes other duties such as administrative tasks.  
Required qualifications  
The successful applicant should be able to document: 
  • research qualifications achievable in a position as assistant professor or equivalent within regulatory science 
  • research-based teaching qualifications and pedagogical skills achievable in a position as assistant professor or equivalent within the regulatory topics* 
  • experience in research dissemination to the public and relevant stakeholders   
  • abilities to attract and conduct externally funded research projects   
*In addition to the research qualifications mentioned above, applicants are required to have a relevant PhD degree and university level-teaching experience, and must be able to explain and reflect upon his/her own teaching practice. If the applicant has no previous teaching experience through employment as an assistant professor, or has not achieved corresponding teaching experience, the appointment will be probationary for one and a half year years. 
Due to the highly collaborative and evolutionary nature of the research field, additional qualifications are expected within the following areas:  
  • Excellent communication skills and fluency in English 
  • Experience with international collaborations 
  • A collaborative and innovative mindset  
Assessment of applicants  
In addition to research excellence, teaching and research leadership, as well as administrative experience together with personal qualities and suitability for the position will be taken into consideration. In the evaluation of research qualifications, recent publications, as well as the potential for future research of high quality within the field specified, will be emphasized. Managerial and out-reach qualifications of applicants will also be considered. The person(s) we hire must be able to contribute to the Department’s long-term academic development. 
Terms of employment 
Salary and other terms and conditions of appointment are set in accordance with the Agreement between the Ministry of Finance and AC (Danish Confederation of Professional Associations) or other relevant professional organisations.
