150205 Tenure Track Assistant professor of Veterinary Pharmacology and Toxicology

We are looking for a highly motivated and dynamic researcher for a research team within Veterinary Pharmacology and Toxicology in a tenure track assistant professor position to commence 1st of January 2020 or as soon as possible thereafter.
The area of Veterinary Pharmacology and Toxicology is a fundamental discipline in the Veterinary Curriculum. Veterinary Pharmacology covers the absorption, distribution, metabolism, excretion and effect of drugs used to treat companion and livestock animals with focus on mechanisms of action and the development, improvement and evaluation of new therapies. Veterinary Toxicology covers the exposure, mechanism of action and treatment of intoxication relevant for companion and livestock animals.

Our research aims to refine medical therapy in companion and livestock animals. The research group has focus on treatment of cardiovascular and metabolic diseases in companion animals and porcine models of human diseases.
The group targets high quality research with focus on fund raising, innovation and cross disciplinary research in close collaboration within other national and international research teams. A creative, stimulative and supportive working environment is valued.
The tenure track assistant professor’s responsibilities will primarily consist of:
- research, including publication/academic dissemination
- research-based teaching
- sharing knowledge with society
- participation in formal pedagogical training program for assistant professors
The tenure track assistant professor will take strong lead in project design and management as well as data generation, analysis and interpretation, and will collaborate with team members as well as national and international collaborators. Teaching of veterinary students will be a part of the position.
The successful candidate should be able to document:
- a PhD degree or similar qualifications within Veterinary or Medical Sciences
- research experience within the field of the position
The tenure track assistant professor must have an academic standing showing internationally competitive research, and/or have internationally recognized high potential to make a future impact.
The assistant professor is also required to possess good interpersonal and communicative skills.
We are looking for a highly motivated, passionate and enthusiastic scientist with the following competencies and experience:
Essential experience and skills:
- You have postdoctoral experience within animal research
- You have an interest in Veterinary Pharmacology and Toxicology
- You have a documented track record in conducting and publishing your own research
- You have pre-graduate teaching experience
- You have previously contributed to attract external research funding
- Proficient communication skills and ability to work in teams
- Excellent English skills written and spoken

- Laboratory animal course at EU Function ABD level

Terms of employment
The tenure track assistant professor’s performance will be evaluated through annual evaluations. Furthermore, the tenure track assistant professor will be evaluated in a mid-track appraisal.

Salary and other terms and conditions of appointment are set in accordance with the Agreement between the Ministry of Finance and AC (Danish Confederation of Professional Associations) or other relevant professional organisations.
