EXTENDED APPLICATION DEADLINE

Associate Professor of Metabolomics and Fluxomics (fixed-term, 6 years)

Novo Nordisk Foundation Center for Basic Metabolic Research

Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences

University of Copenhagen

The University seeks to appoint an Associate Professor of Metabolomics and Fluxomics (fixed-term, 6 years) to the Novo Nordisk Foundation Center for Basic Metabolic Research to commence as soon as possible..

Background

The Novo Nordisk Foundation Center for Basic Metabolic Research’s vision is to strengthen interdisciplinary research that transforms our basic understanding of the mechanisms that underlie metabolic health and disease, and to accelerate this knowledge towards new prevention and treatment strategies. We were established in 2010, and in 2017, we moved into new laboratories, offices and meeting rooms in the Maersk Tower www.maersktower.ku.dk.

The Center has around 260 employees who work in an international, highly collaborative research environment across a range of biomedical disciplines. You can read more about us here: www.cbmr.ku.dk.

Job description
The applicant will contribute to setting up quantitative flux analysis in mammals at CBMR. That will involve methods and strategies for measuring net tissue fluxes, circulatory turnover fluxes and determine sources of tissue metabolites, as well as metabolic flux analysis. The establishment of in-vivo measurements in mammals will be in close collaboration with the metabolomics platform (Metabolomics Platform – University of Copenhagen (ku.dk) and the Rodent Metabolic Phenotyping Platform (Rodent Metabolic Phenotyping Platform – University of Copenhagen (ku.dk)) at CBMR. Besides establishment of the technology and strategy for measuring metabolism in-vivo, the candidate expects to develop her/his own research within CBMR’s research vision. The candidate is expected to perform research in close collaboration with other research groups within CBMR.
